Mrs. Violet E. Ferguson, 67, of Covington, Route 1, died at 6:30 p.m. Thursday (July 14, 1977) at her home. She had been ill a year. Born July 21, 1909, in Dugger, Ind., she was the daughter of Leroy F. and Goldie Butler Hanson. She was married Dec. 31, 1926, to David C. Furguson, who survives. Mrs. Ferguson had resided in the Covington area for 47 years and was a former resident of Vincennes. She retired in 1965 from the Radio Material Corporation in Attica due to ill health. Other survivors include four daughters, Mrs. Frank (Ruth) Vickery and Mrs. Clarence (Joan) Krout, both of Covington, and Mrs. James (June) Davis and Mrs. Gordon (Sharon) Rainey, both of Covington, Route 1; two sons, David of Billings, Mont., and Daniel C. of Georgetown; two brothers, Charles G. Hanson of Casper, Wyo. and Donald W Hanson of Belleflower, Calif.' three sisters, Mrs. Ira (Lucille) Jackson, of Camellia, Ga., Mrs. Edith E. Sampson of Vincennes, Mrs. Pearl (Alta) Steven of Bloomington' 22 grandchildren and 13 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a son, a sister and two brothers. Services will be at 2 p.m. Monday at the Bodine & Shelby Funeral Home. The Rev. Edgar Allen will officiate. Burial will be in Bend Cemetery. Friends will be received after 7 p.m. Saturday and after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
